Export your audit log

Business account owners can download recorded audit activity as a CSV file from Settings → Audit log when the feature is enabled for their account.

  1. Search and filter your audit log.
  2. Select Export results (CSV) beside the matching-events heading.
  3. Check the matching count and filters. The export includes all matching pages.
  4. Select Prepare CSV export.
  5. On the status page, select Refresh status to check progress.
  6. When the file is ready, select Download CSV.

To export without the current search filters, select Export all retained records instead. This still uses the same file limits.

The set of records is fixed when you request the export. New events are not added to that file. Start a new export to include later activity.

The file contains event IDs, UTC times, people, actions, items, results and recorded change details. Available source, role, request and IP information is also included. It does not include passwords, security codes or full story content.

Keep downloaded files secure. They can contain account activity and IP addresses. A CSV is a record of activity, not a backup of your stories or photos.

  • Each export can contain up to 50,000 events and 20 MB of CSV data. Use a shorter date range if the export is too large.
  • Audit records are kept for 12 months. Earlier activity is not included.
  • The download expires 24 hours after the export request. Check the deadline on the status page.
  • Access is checked again when the file is prepared and downloaded. You must still be the eligible Business account owner.

Select Retry export when it is available. If the file expired, start a new export. If the result is too large, narrow the date range first.

If the problem continues, contact support. Do not send the CSV unless support asks you to share it through an approved method.
