Why we ask for a card at signup
We ask for a card to help prevent spam accounts. Adding your card is free. We do not charge it to verify your account, and we will not charge it when your trial ends.
This extra step helps keep Exposure a place for people who want to share their stories.
What happens at signup?
Section titled “What happens at signup?”- Create your account and confirm your email address.
- Add a card and agree to save it securely with Stripe. Your bank may ask you to approve the verification.
- Once verification is complete, your free 14-day Pro Plus trial starts.
Email confirmation and card verification come before the trial, so they do not use up your trial time. If you sign up with Google, Google verifies your email for you. Card verification still applies.
Will I be charged?
Section titled “Will I be charged?”No. Card verification does not create a charge or start a paid subscription. There is no signup fee or payment for the trial.
Your trial does not turn into a paid plan automatically. You do not need to cancel it to avoid a charge.
If you want to keep using Exposure after the trial, choose a plan and confirm the purchase in Checkout. The price and billing period are shown before you agree to pay. Only that separate purchase starts a paid subscription and its recurring payments.
Why save the card?
Section titled “Why save the card?”Stripe saves your card so you can use it if you decide to buy a plan later. You agree to save it during verification, but that agreement does not authorize an automatic purchase at the end of your trial.
Stripe handles the card form securely. Exposure does not store your full card number or security code.
What happens when the trial ends?
Section titled “What happens when the trial ends?”If you do not buy a plan, the trial expires without a charge. Your site and stories stop being available to view or edit. See How trials work for more details.
What if I do not have a card?
Section titled “What if I do not have a card?”If you do not have a payment method right now but still want to try Exposure, please contact us. We can help you with the next step. Please do not send card details by email.
I already have an account. Do I need to do this?
Section titled “I already have an account. Do I need to do this?”This step is for new self-service accounts. It does not add a card requirement to existing accounts or change an existing subscription.
