# Search your audit log

Source: https://support.exposure.co/en/articles/search-your-audit-log/

The audit log helps Business account owners review recorded account activity. Open **Settings → Audit log**, below **AI Powers**.

Audit logs are available when the feature is enabled for your account. If the link is missing, check that you are signed in to the Business account as its owner, or [contact support](<https://exposure.co/contact>). Team-member access is not part of this release.

## Search account activity

1. Enter a person, story, action or event ID in **Search audit log**. You can also search by an exact request ID.
2. Choose **Today**, **Last 7 days**, **Last 30 days**, **Custom range** or **All retained records**.
3. For a custom range, enter both dates. The end date must be on or after the start date. The whole end date is included.
4. Use **Person**, **Action** and **Result** to narrow the search. Results can be **Success**, **Denied** or **Failure**.
5. Select **Search**.

All dates and times use UTC. Search and filters work together. Select **Clear filters** to start again.

If a date is missing or invalid, an app message explains what to correct. Enter both dates and search again.

## Read an event

Select **View event** to see its time, person, action, result, item and recorded change details. Some events also include a source, request ID and IP address. Background activity can show a system actor.

Recorded activity includes supported sign-in and sign-out events, account security changes, story publishing and removal, selected site access changes, support access and exports. The log does not record every page view or every edit. Passwords, security codes and full story content are not included.

## Retention and missing results

Records are kept for 12 months. The page shows the earliest retained record. Activity from before logging started is not included.

If no events match, widen the date range or select **Clear filters**. New activity appears when you start a new search; moving between existing result pages keeps the same search snapshot.

## Export results

Select **Export results (CSV)** beside the matching-events heading to export your search. For steps, file limits and download expiry, see [Export your audit log](<https://support.exposure.co/en/articles/export-your-audit-log/>).

## Need help?

[Contact support](<https://exposure.co/contact>) if you cannot find an expected event. Include its approximate UTC time and action. If your organization has specific audit or retention requirements, confirm them with Exposure before relying on the log to meet them.
