Embedding Your Stories & Content
Share your Exposure stories, site, and subscribe form anywhere on the web.
Overview
Exposure makes it easy to embed your work on any website, blog, or platform that accepts HTML. Whether you want to showcase a full story, a beautiful cover thumbnail, your entire portfolio, or a subscriber sign-up form, there's an embed option for you.
All embed codes are simple copy-and-paste snippets that work anywhere HTML is supported — WordPress, Squarespace, Medium, your own website, and more.
Story Embeds
Every published story can be embedded on other websites. There are three story embed styles to choose from.
How to Get Your Embed Code
Open a published story
Click Embed in the story toolbar (or visit your story's share page)
Choose your preferred embed style
Click Copy code to clipboard
Paste the code into any website or page that accepts HTML
Automatically Resized (Recommended)
The auto-resized embed displays your full story and automatically adjusts its height to match the content. There's no scrollbar — your story flows naturally within the host page, just as if it were native content.
Best for:
Blog posts and articles where you want the story to feel integrated
Portfolio pages where you want a seamless reading experience
Any page where a scrollbar inside the embed would look out of place
Fixed Height
The fixed height embed displays your full story within a set frame. Visitors scroll within the embed to read the story.
Best for:
Pages where you want to control exactly how much space the story takes up
Sidebars or smaller content areas
Situations where you want a clear boundary around the embedded story
Story Cover
The story cover embed shows a beautiful thumbnail card featuring your story's cover photo, title, and author name. Clicking it opens the full story on Exposure.
Best for:
Linking to a story without embedding the full content
Showcasing multiple stories in a grid or gallery
Email newsletters or promotional pages
Situations where you want a visual teaser rather than the whole story
Site Embed
You can embed your entire Exposure portfolio on another website. This displays your full site — including your story feed, bio, and navigation — inside an iframe on any page.
To get your site embed code:
Go to your Exposure site
Navigate to Site then Embed from your menu
Copy the code and paste it into your website
Best for:
Displaying your full portfolio on a personal website
Adding your Exposure site to an "About" or "Work" page
Subscribe Form Embed
Embed your email subscriber sign-up form on any website to grow your audience. Visitors can subscribe to your stories directly from wherever you place the form.
To get your subscribe form embed code:
Go to your Subscriber Center
Click the Embed option for the subscribe form
Copy the code and paste it into your website
Best for:
Your personal website or blog
A "Contact" or "Newsletter" page
Anywhere you want to collect email subscribers
Story Feed Embed (Business Plan)
The story feed embed lets you display a dynamic feed of your latest stories on any website. Unlike the other embeds which use iframes, this is a lightweight JavaScript widget that injects your stories directly into the page — making it fully customizable with your own CSS.
Configurable options:
Story count — Choose how many stories to display (up to 18)
Show title — Display or hide story titles
Show subtitle — Display or hide story subtitles
Show publish date — Display or hide when each story was published
To get your story feed embed code:
Go to Settings
Find the Story Feed Embed section
Copy the code snippet
Paste it into your website and style it with your own CSS
Best for:
Displaying a grid of recent stories on your main website
Creating a custom stories section that matches your site's design
Agencies or brands who want full visual control over how stories appear
Controlling Who Can Embed Your Stories
You have full control over whether each story can be embedded.
To enable or disable embedding for a story:
Open the story in the editor
Go to Story Options
Find the Embeddable Story toggle
Turn it on to allow embedding, or off to prevent it
When embedding is disabled, any existing embeds of that story will show a message directing visitors to view the story on Exposure instead. The embed toggle is enabled by default for all stories.
