Contact Form

Written by Luke Beard

Contact Form

The contact form allows visitors to send you messages directly from your Exposure site. It's a simple way for potential clients, collaborators, or fans to reach out without you needing to publicly display your email address.

Enabling the Contact Form

To enable the contact form on your site:

  1. Go to your Profile Settings

  2. Toggle on "Contact Form"

  3. Save your changes

Once enabled, a "Contact" link will appear in your site navigation, and visitors can access the form at yoursite.exposure.co/site/contact.

What Visitors See

When visitors open your contact form, they'll see:

  • Your profile photo or latest story cover

  • A simple form with fields for their name, email, and message

  • An optional "Subscribe to stories" toggle (if you have subscriptions enabled)

  • A send button

Subscribe to Stories Opt-In

If you have email subscriptions enabled for your site, visitors will see a "Subscribe to stories" toggle on the contact form. When they check this option before sending their message, they'll automatically be added to your primary mailing list.

This is a great way to grow your subscriber list organically—visitors who take the time to contact you are often your most engaged audience.

Spam Protection

Your contact form is protected by multiple layers of spam filtering:

  • reCAPTCHA – Invisible verification prevents automated bots

  • Content filtering – Messages with suspicious links or known spam patterns are blocked

  • Rate limiting – Prevents abuse by limiting submissions

If a visitor's message is blocked, they'll see a message asking them to remove any links or suspicious content.

Receiving Messages

Messages sent through your contact form are delivered directly to the email address associated with your Exposure account. They'll appear in your inbox like any other email, with the visitor's name and email address included so you can reply directly.

Custom Domains

The contact form works seamlessly with custom domains. Visitors to yourdomain.com/site/contact will see the same contact form experience.
